Amonte “Drummer” Henry, a widely acclaimed drummer from Los Angeles, CA, graduated from El Camino Community College with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Management Business & Distribution. Amonte learned to play drums at the age of 2 from watching and listening to his father, the legendary Gary Henry who played for national recording artists such as Spyro Gyra, Tower of Power, Gap Band, Search Light, and many more.
Amonte branched out over the past several years and gained knowledge and skills through his experiences as both musical director and member for several bands and local artists. Amonte’s fundamental experiences with drumming were organic; He has the ability to take any performance to the next level with his high level of showmanship and professionalism. Over the past 10 years, Amonte made his mark in the Midwest as one of the most in-demand drummers in the St. Louis area and is currently making his mark on the Las Vegas music scene.
Amonte has worked with and toured around the world with artists such as KC Wilson (the legendary Charlie Wilson’s nephew), Jimia “Poetic” Warren, 1917 Soundtrack, Empire Soul, Frost Money, Stringz, Katarra Parson, Jeffrey Bo-Dean, Steffine Urkell, Nic Rwe, Dre’co, Mookie Tolliver, EJ Carter, and celebrity gospel artist Jason Nelson, just to name a few. Amonte is also professionally endorsed by Trexist Cymbals, Tama Drums, Evans Drumheads, Roland Drumpads, and Vicfirth Sticks.
Amonte’s music career extends beyond the industry and is prominent within the church as well.
