Heal the Hood Foundation of Memphis and MAW Productions: 3rd Evolution Pop Culture and Community Summit Starring Michael Jai White
This year, Heal the Hood Foundation special guest speaker was Michael Jai White, who is now added to the list of legendary role models of past rosters such as Actor/Director Robert Townsend, Actor/Martial Artist Taimak and Dancer/Actor Adolfo Quinones in Memphis.
Michael Jai White is known as the newly crowned "Black Dragon" used his celebrity to aid the city of Memphis in dealing with youth crime and violence.
Michael Jai White also studied at Brown University and Yale University and later became a teacher prior to pursuing an acting career. Michael currently plays Marcus Williams on the TBS/OWN comedy-drama television series Tyler Perry’s For Better or Worse. Michael also has his own production company and recently released his latest project where he is directing and starring in, "The Outlaw Johnny Black".
The JAIGANTIC brand honors the pedigree created by Michael Jai White, and is dedicated to developing, producing, and distributing high-end content focused on positive heroes and powerful narratives set in the genres of action, drama, and comedy.
Michael Jai White is also a Ohene (King) with the title of Nana Akoto iii, Odopon “The Tree With Strong Roots That Does Not Fear…”, located in Akwamu in Ghana.
About Heal the Hood
The goals of Heal the Hood Foundation are to use the artistic platform to build the 40 Million Dollar youth facility that will host various divisions of the arts. The event will boast of artists, vendors, youth, parents and community leaders coming together to merge cultures that find arts as a common denominator to bring people together from all walks of life.
