"Marc Cortez" was born in Willimantic , Connecticut by his single mother. After becoming infatuated with remixes he heard on the radio, Marc bought his first set of turntables at the age of 16 and began manipulating his favorite parts of recordings to create entirely new songs.
Throughout his youth, he entered and won numerous talent shows in and around the Connecticut area as a rapper and singer . Marc sharpened his musical production and marketing skills by working with local artists. After Marc's troubled childhood and constant run-ins with the law, his mother sent him to live with his father in Torrington , Connecticut.
Soon after his "radio show", Marc established himself as a radio DJ and had both hosted and DJ'd for numerous radio stations throughout New England .Marc Cortez released his first official self-produced mixtape to retail stores via Heist Music Group in 2005.

Marc Cortez has been offered opportunities to tour with artist like Chief Keef and Danity Kane . Marc has also had the opportunity to work Closely with multi platinum music producer John Roper on multiple projects .
