Deborah Cox is a multi-faceted, timeless and generational talent. An unconventional artist with a global sensibility whose talents expand across all art forms. She is a gifted singer-songwriter, as well as, an actress and Broadway star performing globally. Ms. Deborah Cox has amassed platinum albums and attained number one R&B, Jazz & Dance hits.


In addition to her hit records, she has achieved several major awards including an American Music Award, NAACP Image Award, (3) Juno Awards, Lady of Soul Award and a Soul Train Award.


Deborah Cox has also evolved into a celebrated Broadway performer, starring in several shows, including Jekyll & Hyde, Aida, The Bodyguard, and The Josephine Baker Story at The Asolo Repertory Theatre.


 


Currently, she has dedicated her talents and passions to a global mission, which stemmed from her Caribbean roots. Recent visits to Ghana and South Africa have fueled musical and cultural collaborations and have allowed Deborah Cox to embrace her truth, evolve her art while continuing to challenge herself as an artist.


Deborah Cox released six studio albums, over twenty singles, numerous dance remixes. Her albums sold millions of copies globally in multiple genres; Contemporary R&B, Jazz and Dance Music.


 

Beyond the arts, Deborah Cox has poured her heart into pro-social movements. Deborah Cox has been recognized for her longstanding commitment to the LGBT community.


  • In April 2019, she received the NGLCC-NBIC Icon Award


  • June 2019, Proclamation for the Borough of the Bronx, NY (for recognition and dedication to the LGBTQ community)


  • Luminary Award from the University of The West Indies


  • In January 2015, she received the Out Music Pillar Award


  • The Harvey Milk Foundation at the 2015 Diversity Honors honored her for her efforts in the fight against HIV/AIDS in the LGBT community.


  • In 2014, she received the California State Senate Award, and in 2007 The Civil Rights Award from the New York Senate for her efforts in the fight for Human Rights and Equality
