She is a gifted singer-songwriter, as well as, an actress and Broadway star performing globally. Ms. Deborah Cox has amassed platinum albums and attained number one R&B, Jazz & Dance hits.
In addition to her hit records, she has achieved several major awards including an American Music Award, NAACP Image Award, (3) Juno Awards, Lady of Soul Award and a Soul Train Award.
Deborah Cox has also evolved into a celebrated Broadway performer, starring in several shows, including Jekyll & Hyde, Aida, The Bodyguard, and The Josephine Baker Story at The Asolo Repertory Theatre.
Currently, she has dedicated her talents and passions to a global mission, which stemmed from her Caribbean roots. In January 2015, she received the Out Music Pillar Award
The Harvey Milk Foundation at the 2015 Diversity Honors honored her for her efforts in the fight against HIV/AIDS in the LGBT community.
In 2014, she received the California State Senate Award, and in 2007 The Civil Rights Award from the New York Senate for her efforts in the fight for Human Rights and Equality
